These vehicles will be out of motor plan soon.

Due to emissions and Euro 5 standards being enforced in Europe and around the world we are finding manufactures are going to extreme measures to comply with these new laws.

So the introduction of “green vehicles” entails your new vehicle switching off during robot stops and starting when required. This puts a tremendous strain on the battery fitted to your vehicle. Remember the air conditioners and lights, wipers are still operating while the engine is on standby. Okay the fan of the air conditioner still works but the compressor is off.

Anyway the point is that now the engine has to restart instantaneously when the lights turn to green. Even with all these accessories still working!

So logics says that a normal battery cannot be used for this application, so ECM, EFB, AGM and AGM Spiral were developed to meet these demands.

Second point is that, can you use your normal Battery Tester to test them?

Not really as the CCA’s (Cold cranking Amps) are much higher than standard batteries and only a fully charged battery can be tested. (Normally 24 hours on charge.)  Not the case with the new DHC system.
